Cowes festival

Since 1826 Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar and is one of the UK’s longest running and most successful sporting events. It now stages up to 40 daily races for over 1,000 boats and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world.

Cowes Week is a fusion of many exciting elements, with its great mix of competitive sailing and social activities. The 8,500 competitors range from Olympic and world class professionals to weekend sailors. In excess of 100,000 spectators come to watch the sailing, enjoy the parties and live entertainment, and to experience the unique atmosphere. It is genuinely a one-of-a-kind event – come and see for yourself!

Powerboat Festival

The British Powerboat Festival is being held at Cowes, Isle of Wight from 25th to 30th August 2010. The event is celebrating the 50th running of a Powerboat Race from Cowes.

Over 40 of the world’s top UIM Marathon Class racing boats will be competing in The Cowes 100 and the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes races.

The focal point of the Festival will be the "Race Village" situated at Cowes Yacht Haven. Visitors will be able to come and see the dry and wet pits close up and be able mix and savour the atmosphere created by a bar, food court, live music, street entertainers, and various merchandising stalls, whilst on selected evenings, air displays and fireworks displays will be held.
